David was on WTTW’s Chicago Tonight yesterday:

David received a strong recommendation from the Bloomington Pantagraph:
Miller also has additional insight as a small businessman with firsthand experience with waiting for payments from the state. He operates two Chicago-area dentist offices. In fact, he was among the volunteer dentists who visited McLean County for two days in June to provide free dental care through the Illinois Mission of Mercy.
We like Miller’s ideas for saving money by providing incentives for electronic payments, moving cemetery regulation from the comptroller’s office to the office of professional regulation and making more spending cuts. He also is right about the need for more information to be readily available online.
On balance, Miller has the edge and would bring new blood, a quiet competence and a commitment to bipartisan change. The Pantagraph Editorial Board endorses David Miller for comptroller.

DOLTON – According to an Illinois Radio Network story Judy Baar Topinka thinks David Miller’s proposals for the Illinois Comptroller’s office are impossible to oppose.
“I am happy that Ms Topinka finds my proposals for the Office of Illinois Comptroller impossible to oppose. I am proud that my ideas reflect what is really needed to move state government away from pay to play politics.” said Miller. “I welcome her support.”
Among Miller’s proposals for the Illinois Comptroller’s office include:
- Streamlining Payments to Providers of Critical Services
- Disclosure of State Paid Salaries
- TIFS Information Fully Disclosed and Accessible in Online Database
- Clean Up the Contract Process
- Monitor Companies That Receive Tax Breaks to Create Jobs so they Fulfill Their Commitments
- Zero Tolerance for Contractors Who Break State Rules and Laws
- Incentivize Job Growth
- No Contributions from Businesses who do work for the state
- Establish Inter-fund Transferring and Surplus Fund Investment Tools
“As Illinois’ Chief Fiscal Officer, I will put in place these programs and more to protect and improve the financial standing of our state.” stated Miller.
